Hey there and welcome! Ahlan. I’m Abby, and I’m learning to speak and write/read Arabic. This page is supposed to be about me, and I’ll probably get to that later, but I wanted to tell you about the photos, just to give credit where it’s due.
My husband took the photos on my blog, he is an awesome photographer. The pictures are from our trip a year ago (2009) to Egypt. One picture is from the beaches of Iskanderiya (Alexandria) and the header is from a short trip we made to Assiut. It says “gelati,” but I had to be reminded of that, which is another good reason for this blog! My husband’s handle on Twitter is studio79, where you’ll find that he really, really loves soccer, and he spends a good deal of time taking pictures of the Columbus Crew (soccer team) for the website Massive Report. He occasionally does some family photography and other things, too. Oh, and he works at a bank.
Hi Abby,
I came across your blog via your Twitter account and wanted to ask if it’s OK for me to add a link to your blog from my own language learning blog, Aspiring Polyglot.
How long have you been learning Arabic for? And which other languages are you thinking of learning in future?
Absolutely! I have been learning for nearly twelve years, since I started dating my husband. I am a Bible scholar, so I would like to learn Greek and Hebrew, and Egypt has a lot of French speakers, so I’d also like to learn French.
